Frequently Asked Questions

When will I receive my piece?

Most prints and frames are produced after you place your order (the exception are artist's proofs). Prints will generally ship to you in about 2 weeks, framing services will add extra 3 - 4 weeks. We try to get every piece out to you within 30 days, but occasionally delays beyond our control can push shipping times from 4 weeks to 6 - 8 weeks. We will keep you updated with delivery estimates and production updates every step of the way.

Are these limited editions?

Unless otherwise indicated, all pieces are limited to editions of 100 prints. You'll receive a Certificate of Authenticity that notes which print number you have.

Are the pieces signed?

Yes. Prints are signed on the back, along with the title and edition number.

I need to verify/replace/have a question about a certificate of authenticity, what do I need to do?

Get in touch here.

Can I choose the frame style?

We've chosen frames that we think work best with each piece, and unfortunately can't offer customizations. However, every framed piece is also available to order as a print only. We'd be happy to direct you to professional framing services with a variety of options for you to choose from. Metal prints are meant to be displayed without a frame and come with hanging hardware already permanently attached to the back.

Do you accept returns?

All sales are final, and no returns or exchanges are accepted. On the rare occasion that a piece may arrive damaged, get in touch so we can help get a replacement.

What lighting works best for a metal print?

Halogen, bright white incandescent (color temp 4500K or above), full-spectrum LED, or other high CRI (color rendering index) light bulbs work best. You can also use indirect natural daylight, just make sure it's indirect to avoid fading over time, and keep in mind that the print's appearance may vary throughout the day. Some types of lighting, like standard fluorescent bulbs, might not work as well because they can cause the metal print surface to absorb or scatter light, making the green part of the spectrum stand out more. Changing the lighting can impact how all prints look, but metal prints like these are especially sensitive. This is called metameric failure. To ensure consistent results, we recommend using light bulbs with a CRI of 90 or higher.

Can I hang my metal print outside?

Metal prints can be displayed outdoors, but direct sunlight exposure will fade the image over time. In some cases, we can have a special UV coat applied to your print to offer additional protection from sunlight, at an additional cost. Please get in touch before you order to discuss your planned display location so we can advise accordingly.

How can I clean and care for my piece?

For metal prints, non-ammonia glass cleaner, water, or isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol can be used without harming the print surface. We recommend using a clean, lint-free cloth to wipe off the print on occasion if kept in doors, outside will need more frequent an extensive cleaning. No cleaners containing ammonia, abrasives, or corrosive chemicals should be used.

For framed prints, a light regular dusting once a week with a dry microfiber cloth or soft cloth towel to clean should keep the frame clean. If you’d like to use a cleaning solution, we recommend water with a drop or two of dish soap. Avoid using any cleaners that contain bleach to prevent damage or discoloration to your frame. It is important never to use ammonia or abrasive cleaners on your acrylic glazing to keep from scratching the acrylic. A soft cloth once a week works great here, too. Don't spray water, wood polish, glass cleaner, or any other cleaning agent onto a frame with a mounted picture, they're not necessarily water tight and moisture will damage the print. Most of our framed prints come sealed with craft paper, so if your frame needs more extensive cleaning we'd recommend taking it to a professional to be taken apart and cleaned.
